In Ukraine, the salaries of social workers will increase significantly from January 1, 2026. The government made the decision on December 26, approving the application of a 2.5 multiplier for specialists working in social and rehabilitation services.

The Ministry of Social Policy emphasizes that work in the social sphere requires not only professional knowledge but also considerable emotional resources. According to the Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity of Ukraine, Denys Ulyutin, the decision to increase wages is a step toward fair support for professionals who work with vulnerable groups of the population on a daily basis.
It is expected that the increase in salaries will help retain professional staff, reduce staff turnover, and create conditions for the development of social and rehabilitation services. The resolution will take effect at the beginning of 2026 and will be part of broader changes in the field of social support in Ukraine.
