The 112 app is now available to users in Ukraine

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has launched the official 112 app for emergency calls. The service is already available for download and is designed to call rescuers, police, medics and gas services even in situations where there is no mobile connection. The development has become part of the state emergency response system and is aimed at improving the availability of assistance in critical conditions.

Users can make a call through the app, after which the 112 operator independently assesses the situation and determines which services need to be involved. Before using the service, mandatory authorisation is required to identify the call and speed up the response.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs explains that the application is designed to work in shelters, basements, or other places where Wi-Fi is available but mobile signals are absent or unstable. The service can also be useful during emergencies or when cellular networks are overloaded and traditional communication channels are not working.

The developers have already announced further expansion of the functionality. Among the planned options is the ability to call for help using sign language, so that the service is accessible to people with hearing impairments. The Ministry of Internal Affairs emphasises that all users’ personal data is protected and complies with state cybersecurity standards. The information is used exclusively for processing emergency calls and is not transferred for other purposes.

The launch of the 112 app is positioned as another tool that allows you to get help in any situation, even when other means of communication are unavailable.
