Key points:

  • Over 1 million Ukrainians have applied for winter support through Ukrposhta.
  • The funds can be spent on utilities and postal services, newspapers, medicines, and Ukrainian goods from the programme list.
  • Donations to the Armed Forces of Ukraine are permitted.
  • Cash on delivery can only be used for Ukrainian goods included in the programme.
  • Applications will be accepted until 24 December.

Over a million Ukrainians have applied to participate in the Winter Support programme through Ukrposhta and have begun receiving payments. During the first weeks of the programme, specialists noted recurring situations in which payments had to be rejected. This creates queues at post offices and complicates the process of receiving assistance, so Ukrposhta is reminding people of the rules for using the funds.

Payments are available to holders of the National Cashback card. Payment is made directly at Ukrposhta branches. Funds can be used for utilities, postal items, subscriptions to Ukrainian newspapers and magazines, and the purchase of medicines and goods exclusively manufactured in Ukraine that are included in the programme. Donations to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine are also permitted.

The most questions arise regarding cash on delivery. Winter Support funds can be used to pay for orders only if the contents of the parcel are manufactured in Ukraine and are included in the list of goods of the National Cashback programme. If the goods are foreign-made, the payment will be rejected.

Ukrposhta continues to accept applications for participation in the programme until 24 December. Applications can be submitted at branches throughout the country.
