Culture Moves Europe opens new call for Ukrainian artists

The Culture Moves Europe programme has opened another selection round for Ukrainian artists and cultural professionals who want to expand their practice abroad. Participants can go on a professional trip to one of forty European countries and partner countries, present their projects, attend international events, or do an internship at cultural institutions.

Artists can choose any travel format — individual or team — lasting from seven to sixty days. The programme also allows for virtual or hybrid participation if travel outside Ukraine is not possible. Participants determine their own itinerary and professional goals, allowing them to tailor the trip to their own needs.

Under the terms of the programme, participants can attend professional events in EU countries, as well as in Armenia, Georgia, Iceland, Moldova, Norway, North Macedonia, Serbia, Tunisia and other countries. Each selected participant receives a daily allowance of €85 for accommodation, meals and other expenses, as well as €400 for tickets and €120 for visa expenses.

For online participation, €40 is provided, which can be used to pay for access to the event or the internet. The programme also offers an additional €200 for participants travelling with a child, and people with disabilities are provided with separate funding upon submission of the relevant documents.

Ukrainian citizens or holders of a Ukrainian residence permit over the age of 18 who work in the fields of architecture, literature, music, design, cultural heritage, visual or performing arts are eligible to apply. Participation is open to both individual applicants and small teams of up to four people. Applicants who have already received a Culture Moves Europe grant are not eligible to participate in this call.

Applications will be accepted until 23:59 Kyiv time on 30 April 2026. The programme is administered by the Goethe-Institut as part of the EU’s Creative Europe funding.
