On 28 and 29 November, the All-Ukrainian Forum of Veterans and Their Families, “Communication Platform: Return. Strength. Recovery,” will be held in Lviv at the Officers’ House. The event will bring together veterans, female veterans and their loved ones, as well as state institutions, public organisations, lawyers, psychologists and rehabilitation specialists. The organizers are the public organization “Women’s Support,” the Lviv Women’s Union, and the Women’s Union of Ukraine.
The forum will be a continuation of the social project “Communication Platform,” which was first held in February. This year, the event is being held with the support of the Main Directorate for Psychological Support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, under the patronage of the Lviv Regional State Administration. It also includes the assistance of the Lviv House of Officers and the Representative of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights in the Lviv region. The organisers emphasise that they seek to create a space for dialogue between those returning from war and those working on the reintegration of veterans. The motto of this year’s event is “We see you. We hear you.”
Participants will discuss the role of the state and local authorities in supporting veterans, opportunities for education and employment, psychological and social support, and the development of veteran spaces and communities. A separate section is dedicated to military families, in particular support for families of missing and captured persons. The Forum will also discuss veteran leadership and the formation of modern veteran policy, involvement in public life and educational initiatives.
As part of the event, Olena Polyukhovych’s art project “Red Threads: Women’s Stories of Resilience” will be presented for the first time in Lviv. The exhibition has already been shown in Krakow, Warsaw, Odesa, and Rivne. It is dedicated to the experiences of Ukrainian women during wartime, their resilience, inner strength, and stories that unite families across the country. The musical programme will be supported by Pavlo Tabakov, SANNA, Yuriy Yosifovich, and the band Yaka Isknuye.
Participation in the event is free, but prior registration is required at the link.
