The Ukrainian Red Cross team, in partnership with the World Food Programme, has launched a new phase of support for residents of the Barvinkivska and Savinska communities in the Kharkiv region as part of the “Assistance to Frontline Households” project. The initiative aims to strengthen the resilience of families who run smallholdings near the contact line.
In October, 126 households received drip irrigation systems. This equipment improves crop yields, reduces water consumption and allows for more efficient land management in conditions of limited resources.
In November, the transfer of motorised cultivators began. This equipment helps to cultivate the soil and reduces the workload for farmers who are restoring their agricultural projects or planning to expand them. In total, 275 units of small machinery will be transferred to various households as part of the project.
At the same time, the Ukrainian Red Cross team is conducting verification visits. Experts check the data specified in the participants’ business plans to more accurately identify priority needs and increase the effectiveness of support. This approach enhances the project’s impact on the development of communities living under constant pressure from military risks.
The project started in April 2025 and will run until the end of November 2025.
