The Ukrainian Red Cross launches a large-scale programme to support women’s economic rights

The Ukrainian Red Cross, in partnership with the Austrian Red Cross, has announced the launch of a national programme aimed at strengthening the economic rights of women affected by the war. The initiative is being implemented with the support of the Austrian Neighbour in Need Foundation and the Austrian Development Agency and covers participants from all regions of Ukraine.

The project is aimed at women who find themselves in difficult circumstances due to the war: internally displaced persons, those who have lost their jobs or businesses, single mothers, women with disabilities and female veterans. The programme creates conditions for restoring economic independence and developing one’s own business through training, mentoring support, networking and grant opportunities.

Participants gain access to business education, entrepreneurship training, consultations from experienced experts and support in launching or scaling projects. Particular attention is paid to practical skills — management, finance, marketing, and innovation. Grant funding of €7,000 is available to implement the most promising business ideas.

The programme includes the REDpreneur Women format — specially created women’s cohorts where participants work in a safe and supportive environment. Here they develop professional skills, exchange experiences and form a community that supports each other.

The programme is also integrated with RED HUB, an innovative space of the Ukrainian Red Cross that combines business training, mentoring and networking. RED HUB will become a platform for at least 6,000 women who will participate in training events, workshops and thematic meetings.
