The “Let’s Clean Up Our Shared Home” campaign kicks off in Europe

Strichka, a coordination platform for Ukrainians abroad, has announced the launch of a European volunteer campaign called “Let’s Clean Up Our Shared Home.” The initiative is being implemented with the support of the International Renaissance Foundation and in partnership with Ukrainian civil society organisations in nine EU countries. Its goal is to strengthen the positive image of Ukrainians and show their active participation in the life of local communities.

The campaign will run from November 2025 to March 2026 and will cover 13 European cities. Strichka emphasises that the participation of Ukrainians in the improvement of urban spaces helps to break down stereotypes about their role as recipients of aid and demonstrates their responsibility to the countries that have provided them with shelter.

The launch event took place in Ljubljana, where Ukrainian volunteers worked alongside partners from Društvo Ukrajincev v Sloveniji Razom in the historic botanical garden. Participants cleaned up the area, tended to the plants, and introduced the local community to Ukrainian culture. The organisers are already planning to continue the collaboration.

The project is coordinated through the Strichka digital platform, which brings together active Ukrainians in different countries and supports international initiatives for the benefit of Ukraine. It is expected that about 500 people will join the campaign.
