Starting today, you can apply for the winter thousand at Ukrposhta branches

On 18 November, Ukrposhta branches began accepting applications for 1,000 hryvnias under the Winter Support programme. All Ukrainian citizens residing in the country, as well as parents and legal representatives of children, can apply. Applications will be accepted until 24 December 2025 at more than 26,000 stationary and mobile branches.

Those who receive a pension or state social assistance through Ukrposhta will receive the payment automatically to a special account and do not need to visit a branch. If the pension is paid into a bank account and the person does not use the Diya app, a written application can be submitted directly at the branch. This option is also available to guardians of incapacitated citizens and those who do not have a TIN.

For people who cannot get to the post office on their own, a postman will come to them — all they need to do is call the Ukrposhta hotline. Residents of frontline areas can use mobile post offices.

To apply for assistance, you must have an identity document, a tax identification number or a note confirming its absence, as well as documents confirming your status as a recipient of a disability pension or social assistance. To apply for a child, you need a birth certificate; for an incapacitated person, you need the guardian’s documents and confirmation of their appointment.

After the funds are credited, Ukrposhta will notify you via SMS. The amount received can be used to pay for utilities and postal services, purchase goods or order Ukrainian-made medicines, subscribe to newspapers and magazines, and make charitable donations. For those who receive payments through Ukrposhta automatically, the funds can be used until 25 December 2025. For applications submitted at branches, the deadline is 25 January 2026. If the payment is received on a National Cashback card through Diya, the funds can be used until 30 June 2026.

The most vulnerable categories of citizens within the programme will also receive additional assistance in the amount of 6,500 hryvnias.
