The state is stepping up support for medical facilities in frontline regions

Ukrainian communities living near the front line have received significant support from the state. The government continues to implement a comprehensive programme to support frontline regions, which aims to ensure that people have stable access to medical, educational and social services even in the difficult conditions of constant shelling.

From August to November 2025, medical facilities in frontline, remote and active combat communities received over UAH 280 million in additional funding. The funds are intended to ensure the stable operation of hospitals, the availability of medical care and support for medical workers who work under the pressure of security risks on a daily basis.

The total amount of support was UAH 282 million. Additional funding was provided to primary health care facilities, emergency services and medical teams involved in the human resources retention programme. This allows for increased staff payments and retention of specialists in regions where medical infrastructure is particularly vulnerable.

Deputy Prime Minister for the Recovery of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba stressed that the state is focused on ensuring sustainable access to medical services for the population, regardless of their proximity to the front line. He noted that support for institutions helps to retain professional teams who work in difficult conditions and save lives.

In October, the increase in funding was particularly noticeable in the Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, and Odesa regions. Due to the absence of adjustment coefficients, the Kharkiv region received an additional 7.6 million hryvnias per month, the Zaporizhzhia region — 3.2 million hryvnias, and the Odesa region — 3.1 million hryvnias. The total amount of additional payments in the nine frontline regions was 5.8 million hryvnias.
