Ministry of Culture and Google to train civil servants in artificial intelligence

The Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, in partnership with Google, is launching a training program for civil servants focused on the practical use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools in the public sector. The initiative is part of Google’s training series “Artificial Intelligence for the Public Sector and Municipalities”, designed for Ukrainian government institutions.

The second group of participants now includes the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine and the Association of Ukrainian Cities. The first phase of the program involved representatives from the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Digital Transformation, and CDTO Campus.

The goal of the program is to help public officials and municipal representatives effectively implement AI tools in their daily work — from automating routine tasks and analyzing large data sets to generating new ideas and improving communication with citizens.

The training sessions will be held online in an interactive format with Google experts. Participants will receive educational materials and have the opportunity to engage directly with specialists. The program is designed to ensure safe, practical, and accessible use of AI technologies across government institutions and cultural organizations.

Given the rapid development of digital technologies, the course materials are regularly updated to include new examples and use cases tailored to the needs of Ukrainian institutions.

In earlier stages of the program, participants studied international examples of AI use — from public opinion analysis in Romania to the Google Flood Hub platform used to predict floods in over 80 countries, as well as AI assistants that help governments communicate more efficiently with citizens.
