The UNBROKEN Center in Lviv has introduced a new format of rehabilitation for Ukrainian soldiers using virtual reality technology. Patients experienced a virtual climb to Mount Everest, retracing the route taken by Ukrainian veteran intelligence officers who reached the base camp of the world’s highest peak in the spring of 2025.
The VR equipment was donated to the Center by veterans of the Main Intelligence Directorate together with the Limitless NGO team. The new tool is already being used in rehabilitation programs for severely wounded soldiers, supporting both their psychological and physical recovery.
Alexander Dashko, a veteran of the KRAKEN special unit and a participant in the real expedition, shared that the ascent to Everest was both a challenge and a source of inspiration: “We walked for seven days, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. There were climbs, falls — everything, even really tough moments… But I have no words to describe how amazing it was!”.
During the presentation, UNBROKEN and Limitless signed a memorandum of cooperation. The one million hryvnias raised during the expedition will be used to purchase medical equipment for patient resuscitation and respiratory support at the center.
The initiative combines the experience of veterans, medical expertise, and innovative technologies, creating a space of recovery and resilience for Ukrainian defenders.
