Over 20 years, the program has significantly improved the environmental conditions in the region through collaboration with international partners, local governments, and stakeholders. WWF has implemented numerous projects in Ukraine aimed at conservation, restoration, and sustainable management of natural resources in the Danube and Carpathian ecoregions, recognized as some of the most valuable in the world (WWF Global 200).
In 2019, WWF began operating through a national office in Ukraine, allowing for expanded and diverse programs, ranging from scientific research and education to advising government bodies and advocating for legislative changes.
