President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and First Lady Olena Zelenska visited the Trinity Hub, a space where veterans who lost their sight during the war undergo training and adaptation to a new life. The centre works with people who have suffered complete or partial vision loss, helping them to regain confidence, independence and the ability to navigate their everyday environment.
During the visit, the head of state and the First Lady were met by Minister for Veterans Affairs Natalia Kalmykova and Deputy Director of the centre Tetiana Kostenko. They familiarised the guests with the work of Trinity Hub and showed them how the learning process takes place. Here, veterans learn Braille, undergo physical and rehabilitation therapy, learn to use a computer, master everyday skills and train to move around independently.

The President and First Lady spoke with the programme’s graduates, learning about their experiences and learning outcomes. After the certificates were awarded, there was an informal discussion.
First of all, I want to thank all the soldiers for what you have done. You have defended our country without sparing your lives. Of course, the war is still going on, but it will definitely end. And to prevent our country from being captured this time, a large number of brave people did their duty and defended our sovereignty,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasised.
The rehabilitation project for people with vision loss is being implemented by the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine in cooperation with partners. The first such partner was the non-governmental organisation Trinity Hub. Since 16 October, six veterans have been undergoing rehabilitation here, and a new group will begin training in mid-November.
The Ministry plans to expand the network of institutions that provide such assistance to ensure access to rehabilitation for veterans throughout the country. This is part of the state’s systematic approach to supporting those who defended Ukraine and were wounded.
