The Cabinet of Ministers has once again renamed the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to rename the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications. From now on, the agency will once again be called the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine. The relevant order was signed by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko on 29 October.

According to the government’s resolution, the ministry has two weeks to prepare and submit proposals for amendments to the legislation resulting from this decision.

The previous name, “Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine,” had been in use since 2024. It was introduced after Mykola Tochitsky was appointed minister in order to strengthen state policy in the field of countering disinformation.

Prior to that, since 2020, the agency had operated under the name “Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine.” At that time, under the leadership of Oleksandr Tkachenko, the ministry combined cultural issues with information policy, communication, and information security.

Following personnel changes in October 2025, Tetiana Berezhna became the new Minister of Culture and Deputy Prime Minister for Humanitarian Affairs.
