UNDP in Ukraine and the United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) have launched a new project to help rebuild Ukrainian communities affected by the war and overcome the challenges that prevent people from returning and rebuilding their homes and lives in safety and dignity.
The project, titled “Mine Action and IDP Returns in Southern Ukraine,” will last for 12 months. UNDP will focus on debris clearance, survey and targeted explosive remnants of war, as well as working with providers of legal assistance, physical and mental health services and vocational training.
UNHCR will focus its efforts on repair and reconstruction of housing and social infrastructure, and legal assistance to enable war-affected Ukrainians to exercise their rights and recover vital documents such as birth certificates and property titles. Read more about the project here.
