The Veteran Sports programme continues to gain popularity among Ukrainian defenders. In the fourth quarter of this year, almost 140,000 participants joined the programme, of which more than 68,000 veterans had already participated before, and another 70,000 submitted new applications.
The initiative demonstrates that veteran sports are becoming an important element of rehabilitation, recovery, and psychological support for military personnel who have returned to civilian life. Through physical activity, veterans not only benefit their health, but also have the opportunity for social integration, restoring confidence, and a sense of unity in the community.

Under the programme, the state pays for veterans’ training, allowing them to exercise in gyms, clubs or group classes at institutions that have joined the project. Participants can take advantage of this opportunity at any sports club operating under codes 7941 (‘Physical Culture’) or 7997 (‘Clubs — Country Clubs, Membership’).
‘The programme has become not just part of the policy of supporting veterans, but an effective tool for their rehabilitation. Every gym that opens its doors to veterans is a step towards a stronger community,’ says the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine.
