On October 10, the admission process for PhD programs funded by the state in Ukraine officially ended, while enrollment for tuition-based programs continued until October 20. The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, together with the state enterprise “INFORESOURCE,” summarized the results of this year’s admission campaign.
The highest number of PhD students this year were admitted in the fields of computer science — 321 people, economics and international economic relations — 260, and medicine — 199. Educational sciences, electronics, automation and computer-integrated technologies, mechanical engineering, biology, biochemistry, construction, and software engineering also remained popular choices.
Among the leading universities by number of admitted PhD students are Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Lviv Polytechnic National University, and Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute.
This year’s campaign was the first to be conducted entirely online. Prospective PhD students submitted their applications through electronic accounts, where they could also track the status of their applications and confirm their chosen place of study.
