Construction of the Interaction and Recovery Centre has begun in Vorzel

Construction has begun on the Interaction and Recovery Centre in the village of Vorzel in the Kyiv region, a new public space that will bring together services, support and places for residents to develop. The capsule laying ceremony took place on 21 October with the participation of representatives of the Ukrainian Red Cross, the Bucha City Council and the Kyiv Regional Military Administration.

The future centre will become a hub for the recovery of communities affected by the war. It will house administrative services, employment and legal support advice centres, a library and a recreation area. There will also be facilities for the physical and psychological rehabilitation of veterans and civilians, and the shelter can be transformed into a hall for public events.

During the ceremony, Maxim Dotsenko, Director General of the Ukrainian Red Cross, emphasised that supporting communities remains one of the organisation’s top priorities.
‘Strong communities are the foundation of a good life for everyone. The centre in Vorzel will be a place where people can get help and recover physically and psychologically. This is a contribution to the resilience of the community and the future of the entire country,’ he said.

Buchansky Mayor Anatoliy Fedoruk emphasised that the new space symbolises not only reconstruction, but also the creation of a community where everyone can find support and inspiration.
‘We are not just laying the foundation for a building — we are laying the foundation for a future where every resident will have the opportunity to develop and feel supported,’ he said.
