The Cabinet of Ministers has introduced a State Information System for coordinating the evacuation and assistance of people leaving temporarily occupied or frontline regions. This was announced by Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
The new system is designed to ensure coordinated work between state structures responsible for evacuation, as well as to enable more effective analysis of the needs of citizens who have been forced to leave their homes.
As Svyrydenko explained, the aim of the initiative is to improve the quality of services for people in transit centres and temporary accommodation. The government has divided the tasks among the agencies: the Ministry of Community Development will coordinate the overall process through a special headquarters, the Ministry of Social Policy will be responsible for social support and reintegration, and the State Emergency Service will be responsible for security, alerting and technical aspects of evacuation.
Local administrations will organise collection points, transport and domestic support, while the National Social Service will coordinate the work of teams of social workers, psychologists, lawyers and doctors.
According to the Prime Minister, people who are forced to evacuate due to the danger of hostilities must receive proper care, support and the opportunity to safely start a new phase of their lives.
