As part of the President of Ukraine’s Bring Kids Back UA initiative, two Ukrainian families with children have been rescued from temporarily occupied territories. The Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak, reported the news. One family spent more than four years under occupation, while the other lived for years in constant danger and fear.
In the first family, a 15-year-old boy with a musculoskeletal disorder required medical treatment that was unavailable in the occupied area. His 8-year-old sister grew up hearing explosions, spending half of her life surrounded by fear. The second story concerns an 18-year-old girl and her mother, who made several unsuccessful attempts to leave the occupied zone on their own.
Both families are now safely on territory controlled by Ukraine. For the first time in years, they feel secure and can begin rebuilding their lives. The Bring Kids Back UA initiative continues to help Ukrainian children and families affected by the war and forced to live under occupation.
