Ukrainian doctors who completed their internship this year are eligible for a one-time state payment of 200,000 UAH. The support is aimed at those willing to work in rural communities and frontline areas where medical assistance is in greatest demand.
The program applies to graduates of internships at 20 state higher education institutions under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education and Science. The payment is regulated by an order of the Ministry of Health and will remain in effect until the end of martial law, with a possibility of extension.
To qualify for financial support, a young doctor must find a vacancy listed on the Unified Job Portal for medical workers in a state or municipal healthcare institution. The facility must be located in a rural area or in an active combat zone, and the staffing level for doctors must not exceed 75%. In such cases, the medical institution can sign a contract with the doctor for at least three years, which serves as the basis for receiving the payment.
All required documents must be submitted by October 10 through the higher education institution where the doctor completed their internship. The application is reviewed by the university administration, which then decides on granting the payment. Funds are disbursed by the end of the fiscal year.
If the contract is terminated early due to resignation or improper performance, the financial aid must be returned. However, exceptions apply in cases of force majeure, closure of the medical facility, the doctor’s disability, or military conscription.
This initiative is designed to encourage young specialists to start their careers in communities with the greatest need for timely and high-quality medical care.
