Students who enrolled in universities in 2025 have begun receiving certificates for educational grants in the Diia app, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine reported.
The grants are intended for first-year students studying under a tuition contract in full-time programs. The amount of support depends on the results of the National Multi-Subject Test. The basic amount starts from 17,000 UAH per year for students scoring at least 150 points (or from 140 points for programs with additional support). If the score exceeds 170 points, the grant increases to at least 25,000 UAH. The certificate in Diia specifies the final amount, taking into account additional support coefficients for certain specialties.
Funds are transferred directly by the Ministry of Education and Science to the university’s account to partially or fully cover tuition costs. The first tranche, covering 50%, must be transferred by December 1, and the second by April 1. The grant remains valid even if a student changes their specialty or university, although the amount may be adjusted.
Students need to update the Diia app, confirm their certificate by October 25, and maintain satisfactory academic performance. The same rules apply to second-year students — they must confirm their certificate and ensure they have no academic or financial debt.
The Ministry of Education and Science approves the grant by order within ten days after the certificate is confirmed. The next stage of support is expected in early October for students who enrolled in 2024.
