Khreshchatyk Street in Kyiv will be closed during a minute of silence

On 23 September, traffic on Khreshchatyk Street in Kyiv was blocked for the first time during a nationwide minute of silence to honour the memory of fallen soldiers. From now on, this practice will take place every day.

According to Mykola Kalashnyk, head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, traffic will also be stopped every day at 9:00 a.m. on the central streets of cities and towns in the Kyiv region to allow people to honour those who died in the war.

The decree on the daily minute of silence was signed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy back in March 2022. Reminders about this moment can be set up in the mobile applications ‘Kyiv Digital’ and ‘Air Raid Alarm’ from Stfalcon and Ajax Systems.
