Deputy Head of the Office of the President Iryna Vereshchuk announced that following meetings with Ukrainians in Poland, the authorities must prepare a state support system for those who decide to return to Ukraine after being forced to move abroad. The initiative was announced during discussions with the diaspora and citizens currently living abroad.

The planned system will cover temporary housing, humanitarian, medical and social assistance, as well as organisational and logistical support for return. Particular attention will be paid to vulnerable groups — the elderly, persons with disabilities, single mothers with children, and those who have difficulty adapting after a long stay abroad. Vereshchuk stressed that in the near future, this issue will be brought up for discussion on the platform for Ukrainians abroad, with the involvement of relevant ministries, public and international partners.
The government and representatives of the President’s Office plan to coordinate measures to ensure efficient logistics, access to primary medical care and temporary social support during the return phase, as well as to prepare mechanisms for further integration into communities: employment, documentation and access to local services. Cooperation with Polish partners and international organisations is seen as a key part of successful return and reintegration.
