UNICEF to Allocate $65 Million to Support Ukrainians During Winter

UNICEF has announced the allocation of $65 million to support Ukrainians during the winter period. According to the organization, the assistance will cover around one million people, a significant portion of whom are children.

The funds will be directed to several areas. In particular, cash assistance is planned for more than 272,000 people, including 120,000 children from vulnerable families. The organization will also provide grants to 600 schools so that 250,000 students can continue their education in warm classrooms. In addition, funding will go toward equipment and repairs for centralized heating systems, ensuring warmth for one million Ukrainians, including 170,000 children.

The head of UNICEF’s Office in Ukraine, Munir Mammadzade, emphasized that for children and families who are already facing the daily consequences of war, another winter will be a serious challenge. That is why the organization is working with local partners to provide essential support, reduce the impact of the cold season, and maintain critical services to protect children’s lives.
