Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, arrived in Kyiv with his Invictus Games Foundation team to meet with Ukrainian veterans. This is his second visit to Ukraine this year — in April, he visited Lviv, where he visited the Superhumans Centre and met with the Ministry of Veterans Affairs team.
In the capital, the main focus was on meeting with veterans who are involved in sports. After all, sports competitions and physical activity help overcome the effects of injuries, promote psychological recovery and integration into civilian life.

In her welcoming speech, Ukrainian Minister for Veterans Affairs Natalia Kalmykova emphasised the symbolic nature of the visit:
“I would like to sincerely thank Prince Harry and the Invictus Games Foundation team for their support and for making Ukraine part of the great family of the Invictus Games. It is particularly symbolic that the Prince has come to Ukraine for the second time to meet with our veterans. This is a gesture of true solidarity, which we greatly appreciate.”
According to her, for Ukrainian defenders, the Invictus Games are not just a sporting event, but also a way to prove that they are stronger than any challenge. Every victory of Ukrainian participants in these competitions is a symbol of Ukraine’s resilience.
