The General Staff of Ukraine is considering the possibility of temporarily shutting down the mobile network or significantly slowing down mobile Internet during air raid alerts. This was reported by a source in the General Staff in a comment to Suspilne.
According to the source, there are currently sufficient measures in place to prevent the Russian military from using Ukrainian mobile networks to navigate drones. However, the situation may change in the future, so additional precautions are being considered.
This primarily concerns drones that operate in FPV mode and require high-speed data transmission. In such cases, limiting internet speed or disconnecting mobile communications may be an effective solution. At the same time, drones without cameras are capable of operating without high-speed connections, so the impact of such measures on them will be minimal.
Thus, the possibility of applying mobile communication restrictions will be considered depending on the specific circumstances and the type of drones used by the Russian army.
