The State Employment Service has launched a project that gives women the opportunity to learn professions that were previously dominated by men. The main condition for starting training is a request from an employer. Businesses submit an application for personnel to the employment centre, after which candidates are selected from among those who have expressed a willingness to learn a new profession. There are currently 31 specialities on the list.

Women who want to participate must submit their passport, identification code and education documents. The employment centre then decides whether to refer them for training and forwards the data to the selected educational institution. The cost of training is 30,200 UAH, which is paid by the employment centre, and in the case of more expensive programmes, the difference can be covered by the employer or the participant. The duration of training can be up to 10 months.
Employment after obtaining a new profession is mandatory. The employer must hire the woman no later than 15 days after the completion of training. Additional information can be obtained at the nearest employment centre or by calling the toll-free number 1518.
