A new type of educational institution has been introduced in Ukraine — vocational colleges

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed the Law “On Vocational Education” (No. 4574-IX), which defines a new structure for the system and expands opportunities for applicants. The document provides for the emergence of a basic type of institution — a vocational college. Alongside it, there will be military colleges, training centres, and centres of professional excellence.

The law establishes clear rules for the activities of institutions: state and municipal institutions will be able to operate both as budgetary institutions and as non-profit associations.

In addition, the document regulates the creation of supervisory boards with the participation of employer representatives. It also provides for the possibility of awarding qualifications by individual qualification centres and confirming knowledge acquired through informal education.
