The State Food and Consumer Service discussed the implementation of a new electronic system, eFood, which is designed to simplify interaction between businesses and citizens with state authorities in the field of food safety and consumer protection. During a meeting between representatives of the agency and the Public Council, it was emphasised that the initiative creates conditions for the transition of key procedures to a digital format.

According to Solomiya Starosolska, head of the Digitalisation Office, the system will enable faster service delivery, minimise bureaucratic steps and ensure transparency of processes. Ihor Lotskyn, Director of the Department of Food Safety and Veterinary Medicine, added that the implementation of eFood is in line with European practices and will contribute to Ukraine’s fulfilment of its obligations under the Association Agreement with the EU.
Today, entrepreneurs and citizens face numerous paper-based procedures, from registering facilities to submitting reports. The launch of eFood will make it possible to submit documents and obtain permits online, improve data protection, and facilitate the work of civil servants.
A draft resolution on the experimental implementation of the system has already been submitted for public discussion. It was developed as part of the government’s priority action plan for 2025 and is to become part of the digital transformation of the State Food and Consumer Service.
