83% of children in frontline areas suffer from emotional exhaustion and developmental delays

The situation in Ukrainian education remained difficult. According to research, more than a third of schoolchildren did not attend full-time classes, and about 11% of children studied exclusively online. One of the main reasons for this was the destruction of educational institutions due to the war — more than 10% of the infrastructure was damaged or destroyed. This was reported by UNICEF.

The problem of access to preschool education remains particularly acute. A significant number of children were unable to attend kindergarten, which has affected their development. The situation is even more difficult in the frontline regions: 83% of children show signs of emotional exhaustion and developmental delays.

Educators and psychologists emphasise that the prolonged absence of a safe environment and a full educational process affects not only academic performance but also children’s social skills. In such conditions, the restoration of educational infrastructure and the creation of additional support programmes are crucial for the future generation.
