Veterans who have completed military service or acquired a disability due to war are eligible for a new medical service — an individual treatment plan. This personalized document helps tailor medical care to the specific needs of each patient and is part of the expanded package of free primary healthcare services.
The treatment plan is developed by a family doctor or attending physician based on the patient’s medical history, chronic conditions, and overall health status. It includes regular health monitoring, laboratory and instrumental diagnostics, and preventive check-ups that consider the veteran’s health risks and needs. All information is recorded in the electronic healthcare system (EHS), making it accessible to medical professionals.
To receive an individual treatment plan, veterans must have a declaration with a doctor working at a medical facility participating in the project. They also need to provide documents confirming their veteran status and submit an application for medical services. Contact details of participating medical institutions can be clarified via the NHSU contact center at the toll-free number 16-77 or directly with their doctor.
The information campaign “Opportunities for Veterans” is implemented through a partnership between the Ministry of Veterans Affairs and the Veteran Reintegration Program, carried out by IREX with support from the U.S. Department of State.
