Ukraine has launched the selection process for participants in the Barrier-Free Ambassadors programme. By 15 September 2025, the plan is to select 50 people from different regions who are ready to implement changes in their communities. The initiative aims to develop an environment where everyone has equal access to education, work, urban space, culture and information.
Barrier-free ambassadors are people who implement accessibility solutions, support communities, share knowledge, and set an example for others. Representatives of local government, education, culture, medicine, social services, business, or the public sector, as well as activists and concerned citizens, can join the programme.
Participants will receive practical training from accessibility experts, join the nationwide social change campaign “Accessibility is when you can,” and take part in a conference in Kyiv in autumn 2025. The programme creates space for collaboration with opinion leaders and expands opportunities for the development of local initiatives.
