Ride-hailing service Uklon is working on upgrading its mobile application to make it more accessible for people with visual impairments. The updated version will include new visual settings, adjustable interface scaling, and a voice-over feature.
According to Uklon’s CPO Roman Petryk, the inclusive features are being developed in collaboration with Access Lab, with the presentation of the updated app planned for this fall. The application has already undergone an accessibility audit, after which the team received recommendations for improvements. The next steps will involve fixing technical issues and refining the interface.
The company also plans to go through another audit to obtain an international accessibility compliance certificate. This will confirm that users with visual impairments can fully use the service.
