Ukrainian medical institutions are receiving a batch of test systems for detecting viral hepatitis B and C, purchased with funds from the 2025 state budget. In total, it is planned to deliver about 1.9 million tests, which will be distributed among the regions during September-October.
The transportation of 500,000 test kits for diagnosing hepatitis B and another 500,000 for detecting hepatitis C is already underway. The national warehouse has received 413,363 tests for hepatitis C and 445,324 for hepatitis B.
Screening for viral hepatitis B and C is free for Ukrainian citizens. To get tested, simply contact your family doctor. Experts advise getting tested at least once in your lifetime, and people at increased risk of infection should do so every year. Such risks include tattoos or piercings performed without proper sterilisation, unprotected sexual contact with new or casual partners, and sharing personal hygiene items.
