In Ukraine, the early intervention service is being actively promoted to support young children and their parents. This initiative focuses on helping families with children under the age of four who have developmental disorders or are at risk.
The State Service of Ukraine for Children emphasizes that early intervention makes it possible to detect signs of developmental delays in time and provide families with the necessary knowledge and tools. This creates more stable conditions for the child and has a lasting impact on their future.
Materials for implementing the service have been developed in cooperation with experts from the Ministry of Social Policy, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education and Science, as well as civil society partners. Videos, guides, and practical resources explain how parents can support their child at home every day, which specialists can assist the family, and what developmental milestones deserve special attention.
These resources are available online. Parents are also encouraged to download the free mobile app “My Baby”, which helps track a child’s development from six months to three years and monitor key growth stages.
Experts highlight that early intervention should be introduced in communities, educational institutions, and healthcare facilities to create an inclusive and caring environment for every child from the very first years of life.
