The Ministry of Education and Science emphasised that all children of deceased or fallen defenders of Ukraine, prisoners of war, police officers, as well as participants in the Revolution of Dignity who were enrolled on a contract basis must be transferred to state-funded places.
This applies to applicants who have already been enrolled on a contract basis. By 18:00 on 18 August, universities must ensure that such students are transferred to vacant state-funded places.
If there are no free budget places in a specific educational programme, the higher education institution may independently redistribute them within the speciality, field or even the university as a whole. If there are no free places in the institution, the administration must apply to the Ministry of Education and Science for additional ones.
“All children of the deceased will be transferred to the budget,” assured Oleg Sharov, Director General of the Directorate of Higher Education and Adult Education, during a meeting dedicated to the admission campaign.
