The Ombudsman’s Office has prepared information materials for families whose loved ones are missing, captive or illegally detained. The brochure contains a step-by-step algorithm of actions and contacts of authorities that can be approached for help.
The material aims to explain to relatives where to turn in case of a person’s disappearance and how to act to protect themselves and their loved ones. An important point is the advice to rely only on official sources and not to disclose sensitive information to outsiders, as this may create additional security risks.
The Ombudsman emphasises that disseminating information about existing algorithms can help save lives and support the process of finding or freeing a person.
