30,000 doses of rabies vaccine have been delivered to all regions of Ukraine. The country received the vaccine as part of cooperation between the Ministry of Health of Ukraine and the World Health Organisation, with financial support from the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre.
The Ministry of Health reports that the vaccines have already been delivered to each region. Rabies treatment centres have been designated at the level of medical institutions in the regions, which are equipped with the necessary drugs.
Medical assistance is provided to all patients who have been bitten, scratched or salivated on by animals. The centres provide initial wound treatment, prescribe and, if necessary, provide a course of rabies vaccinations.
To find out where the rabies treatment centres are located in your region or city, please contact the Ministry of Health’s call centre at 0 800 505 201.
