Thirty thousand contract students will receive state grants for education

This year, about 30,000 Ukrainian applicants who have chosen contract-based education will receive state grants to pay for their education. This was announced by Deputy Minister of Education Mykhailo Vynnytskyi.

According to him, out of more than 65,000 contract students, almost half will be eligible for such support. This is the third form of education financing — co-financing, when part of the cost of education is compensated by the state. Thus, the grants will complement the state order system and expand opportunities for applicants with high test scores.

The amount of assistance will depend on the scores of the national multi-subject test. For 150 points in two subjects, 17,000 hryvnias will be paid, for 170 points — 20,000. In some cases, a grant can be obtained with a score of 140 points if the specialty is a priority for the state.

Payments are indexed for inflation and are currently awarded for two years, which, according to the Ministry of Education and Science, will allow more students to receive stable financial support at the beginning of their studies.
