Ukraine has updated the procedure for providing assistance to defenders returning home after service. This was announced by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko, who emphasised the importance of a systematic approach to the reintegration of military personnel.
According to the head of government, the new changes take into account the experience of the security and defence forces. In particular, this involves expanding the scope of initial medical examinations: the range of medical services has now been increased, and the recording of the consequences of wounds and injuries has been improved. This should ensure more accurate documentation of the health status of military personnel and simplify access to further treatment and support.
In addition, a more effective mechanism has been introduced to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. According to Svyrydenko, special attention is paid to those who have returned from captivity — the state wants every soldier to receive the help they need, and support should be felt from the first days after their return.
The changes were discussed during a meeting with representatives of public organisations involved in supporting veterans and prisoners of war. The Prime Minister emphasised that the state must show its concern through concrete actions, not just declarations.
