August 1 has been declared a day of mourning in Kyiv for those killed during Russia’s massive attack on the capital on the night of July 31. This was announced by Mayor Vitali Klitschko.
State flags will be lowered on all municipal buildings in the city, and it is recommended that this be done on state and private property as well. All entertainment events on this day are prohibited.

According to updated data, at least 11 people were killed in the strike, including one child. This was reported by the State Emergency Service. Medical personnel provided assistance to 93 victims, including 11 children. Thirty people, including five children, remain in hospitals.
Rescuers are still working at the sites of the strikes, and emergency search operations are ongoing.
On the night of July 31, Russian troops launched a combined strike on Kyiv, firing more than 300 drones and eight missiles. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the main target of the attack was the Ukrainian capital.
