Ukraine has launched a programme offering free training for veterans and people with disabilities as part of the project ‘Skills for Inclusion: Workplace Training to Empower Vulnerable Groups.’ The initiative is being implemented by the non-governmental organisation Ukrainian Professional Development, according to veteran.com.ua.
The programme is designed for those who have returned from military service and are looking for their place in civilian life, as well as civilians with disabilities. Participants can undergo free blended learning in thirteen regions of the country, including Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kyiv, Lviv, Bukovina, Poltava and other regions.
The organisers offer six relevant areas of study: from training cashiers, electricians and electrical engineers to training agricultural drone operators, multi-skilled CNC machine operators, automotive diagnostics and repair specialists, and radio communications and electronics specialists.
‘We strive to help veterans and people with disabilities not only to acquire new skills, but also to confidently integrate into the professional environment,’ the public organisation notes. As part of the project, participants can receive support from an integration coach, assistance in writing resumes, preparation for interviews, psychological support, and assistance in finding employment. Financial support during training is also provided.
Applications can be submitted online, and additional consultations are available by phone or Telegram. The initiative gives veterans and people with disabilities the chance to retrain and feel needed in new fields.
