On the night of 21 July, Kyiv suffered another massive missile attack from Russia. Several residential and non-residential buildings in different districts of the capital were damaged as a result of the attacks. According to official reports, one person was killed and seven others were injured, including a 15-year-old girl.

Fires were reported in Darnytskyi, Dniprovskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, Solomianskyi and Obolonskyi districts. The fires occurred in residential buildings, warehouses, kiosks, a kindergarten and a supermarket. In Shevchenkivskyi district, a victim was treated on the spot, and another was hospitalised in Darnytskyi district. Most of the destruction and fires occurred in Darnytskyi and Dniprovskyi districts.




Lukyanivska metro station was one of the objects that was damaged. The strike damaged its surface part, but the underground premises were not affected. The station is temporarily closed to passengers but is functioning as a shelter. At first, train traffic was limited, with the red line running to Vokzalna station and later to Arsenalna. Transfer hubs are operating as usual, and other metro stations are operating as usual.
In addition to the metro, changes have also affected ground public transport. As a result of the morning explosions, routes have been temporarily rerouted, with details being updated throughout the day.
The city’s operational services – rescuers, medics and police – are working in an emergency mode. Some of the victims were treated on the spot, five were hospitalised. As of 9:00 a.m., rescue operations are ongoing and information on the consequences is being updated.
