The Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine has announced the launch of the electronic Register of the Basic Network of Cultural Institutions. This is the first digital system that unites all cultural institutions in the country into a single register. The platform is based on Diia.Engine and will become a key tool for accounting, planning and analysis of cultural infrastructure.

The pilot implementation will start in Kyiv and Vinnytsia regions. Later, the register will be extended to the entire territory of Ukraine. The project is being implemented in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of 30 August 2024 No. 1001.
The ICCC notes that the system will help transition to a new management model in the field of culture. Communities will have open access to up-to-date information, the state will have data for decision-making, and cultural institutions will have a digital tool for registration and development.
The register allows:
- to centrally account for the network of cultural institutions;
- ensure public access to up-to-date information;
- formulate cultural policy based on transparent data;
- plan the modernisation of institutions in the context of post-war reconstruction.
The project was implemented with the support of the Ministry of Digital Transformation, within the framework of the international technical assistance programme “Innovation Lab for the EU-Ukraine Association (InnoLab EU)”. The partners are the Eastern Europe Foundation, the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), UNESCO, the Government of Japan, and the Foundation for Support of Reforms in Ukraine.
