In the capital, the demand for affordable housing is currently being actively driven by internally displaced persons (IDPs) from frontline regions.
This was reported in an interview with HMH.news by Larysa Stavynoha, President of the Union of Real Estate Specialists of Ukraine.
“A significant number of people from Kharkiv, Sumy, and other frontline areas are actively looking for housing in Kyiv. They are selling their property in their hometowns and buying here — mostly affordable housing: Khrushchyovkas, small studio apartments, and one-bedroom flats. The main price segment is between $30,000 and $70,000. This is not a luxury, but a basic need — to have a roof over one’s head,” she noted.
According to the expert, this budget housing segment is currently the most active on the capital’s market.
IDPs who have lost their homes or cannot return to their native cities due to danger are seeking to settle in a safer region — which Kyiv remains.
