Ukrainians who arrived in the Czech Republic after the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion have generally made a positive contribution to the Czech economy. This is stated in the annual report of the Czech Security and Information Service (BIS).

According to the BIS, as of the end of 2024, more than 390,000 Ukrainian citizens with temporary protection status lived in the Czech Republic. The report states that the level of integration of Ukrainians into Czech society is gradually increasing, and their economic contribution has already exceeded the amount of social benefits and state aid received since the beginning of the war.
Czech intelligence services emphasise that the presence of Ukrainians has not had a negative impact on the crime situation in the country. There are also no recorded cases of their involvement in the illegal arms trade.
At the same time, the BIS warns of possible new challenges in the future. In particular, with the end of the war, the illegal trafficking of weapons and military materials from Ukraine could become a potential threat.
