Voices through a paintbrush: children’s works from Ukraine at an international exhibition in Pyeongtaek

The International Children’s Art Exhibition opened in the South Korean city of Pyeongtaek, bringing together 280 works from 33 countries around the world on the theme of “Peace.” Among them are seven drawings by Ukrainian children, created as part of the Gen.Camp rehabilitation project by the non-governmental organisation Gen.Ukrainian.

The drawings by Ukrainian children are candid stories about war, loss, temporary occupation and a desperate desire for peace. Their authors are boys and girls who have survived shelling, evacuation and prolonged stress. At the same time, they have managed to convey hope, light and faith in a better future in their works.

The exhibition will run at the Songtan International Exchange Centre until 11 July 2025. Hundreds of visitors have already seen it, and each of them has the opportunity to see the war through the eyes of a child who longs for peace.
