37 explosive devices were found in Sumy region in one day

In Sumy region, 37 explosive devices were found in one day. The most affected areas were Sumy, Okhtyrka, Shostka and Konotop districts — areas that are regularly under fire and leave behind not only destruction but also a deadly danger to the civilian population.

Shell fragments, unexploded ordnance and camouflaged explosive devices are what remain after the shelling. People often return to their homes immediately after the “arrivals,” unaware of the danger posed by the remnants of weapons. It is at these critical moments that mine risk education specialists from the Ukrainian Red Cross Society arrive on the scene.

They conduct urgent information sessions — right next to damaged houses, schools, and on the streets. Their goal is to warn, explain, and demonstrate. After all, every mine safety violation that is prevented can save lives.

“We are not theorists. We operate where a rocket was yesterday. And every safety violation prevented is a life saved,” say the mine risk education specialists.
